Pacific Sun Passengers put at Risk

Delayed flights now seems to be the tradition  of Pacific Sun but now it has raised it poor customer service bar to the utmost putting the lives of its passengers at immense risk. The Consumer Council of Fiji is concerned that the Pacific Sun flight FJ 190 bound for Savusavu from Nausori on 3rd of July, 2009, putting consumer’s lives at risk. A passenger lodged a complaint that he together with other passengers on board was stunned to witness water leaking in the flight. This resulted passengers changing the seat while in flight.

Consumers pay for their travel and expect the services up to standard, not to witness leakage in the craft. Thus, it is the duty of the airline to maintain safety of its passengers which Pacific Sun has failed to reflect in its service. Before taking off the ground, Pacific Sun should scrutinize the craft carefully. The Council is urging the CAAFI and to look into the operations of Air Pacific seriously.

To add, the Council reiterates that Pacific Sun should consider the concerns of delayed flights and take on board the plight of its passengers. ‘Labasa flights cancelled due to mechanical problems’ (Fiji Sun 15/7), ‘Mechanical problem affects north flights’ (Fiji Times 15/7), ‘Domestic Flight’ (Fiji times 23/7), these were the concerns of those vulnerable passengers which does not seems to make its way into the deaf ears of the monopoly player.

Nonetheless, the Consumer council of Fiji will heighten its monitoring ad surveillance of the domestic air travel sector.
